Salsa Beginner introduces the fundamentals of On 1 Salsa, also known as LA Salsa, where dancers move on the first beat. This class focuses on basic footwork and simple turn patterns, making it an ideal starting point for beginners. With its linear patterns and timing, it’s easy to follow and builds a strong foundation for future levels. The class is open to all students with little or no previous Salsa experience and emphasizes learning the essentials in a fun and supportive environment.
Salsa Improver helps you deepen your understanding of foundational techniques, with a focus on rhythm, timing, and lead-and-follow dynamics. This class builds on your existing skills to create stronger connections with your partner and smoother, more fluid movement. You’ll also begin exploring deeper body movement, stylish shines, and more intricate patterns to add flair and confidence to your dancing.
Salsa Intermediate takes your dancing to the next level, helping you connect more deeply with the music while refining your technique. This class emphasizes rhythm, timing, and lead-and-follow skills, essential for smooth, creative, and expressive movement on the dance floor.
Bachata is a social dance from the Dominican Republic, blending Cuban son, African rhythms, and bolero music. Today, Bachata has evolved into several styles, including Bachata Sensual, which became popular in Spain. Bachata Sensual combines dance and theatre, following clear lead-and-follow principles, with flowing circular movements, body waves, and expressive isolations and dips that interpret the music’s rhythm and emotion.
Bachata Beginner introduces the fundamentals of Bachata, drawing from both Dominican and Sensual styles. Students will learn to dance on the beat and practice basic partner patterns in a social dance setting. This class focuses on building a strong foundation, making it an ideal starting point for anyone with little or no previous Bachata experience.
Bachata Improver builds on the basics by introducing variations of social dance patterns in both linear and circular styles. This level focuses on improving posture, technique, and body movement, while also introducing Dominican Bachata footwork syncopation to help students connect with the music and add flair to their dancing. Students can join this level after completing two terms of Bachata Beginner classes or an equivalent.
Bachata Intermediate takes your dancing to the next level by introducing the techniques and styling of Bachata Sensual. Students focus on connecting with the music and their partner through smooth body waves, circular movements, and expressive isolations. This level emphasizes fluidity, musicality, and subtle lead-and-follow skills, helping dancers add elegance and confidence to their social dancing. Students can join after completing Bachata Improver or an equivalent level.
Shines, or solo footwork, are an essential part of Latin dance, allowing dancers to express themselves, explore the music, and develop their own style. In these classes, you’ll focus on building rhythm, timing, and footwork patterns independently, which helps improve your technique and confidence both on your own and when dancing with a partner. Learning shines is not only fun—it’s a foundation for creativity, musicality, and personal expression in Salsa and Bachata.

Designed to complement the elegance and passion of Salsa and Bachata, the class focuses on mastering essential movements and exploring the expressive possibilities of dancing in heels. It’s ideal for intermediate to advanced dancers who are comfortable with the fundamentals and want to take their artistry, technique, and confidence to the next level. Beginners with basic Salsa or Bachata experience are also welcome if they’re ready for the exciting challenge of dancing in heels..
Curious about Latin dance but not sure where to start? Our beginner intro classes are free, providing a welcoming introduction to Latin rhythms and basic steps. For those looking for a more open-level experience, our Latin Taster ($15 for new students) is designed for everyone from complete beginners to dancers getting back into dance in 2026. Explore Latin rhythms, learn simple steps, and enjoy dancing in a fun, supportive setting. No partner or prior experience required. The $15 fee will be fully credited towards your Term 3 classes if you decide to continue.
